Our nanometal energy harvester patent was granted on 5 July 2022 after being filed on 18 September 2018. Congratulations to listed co-inventor Dr. Mavis Boamah! The patent is for “Energy harvesting devices and methods for converting the mechanical energy of a flowing ionic solution such as rainwater or seawater into electric energy” utilizing “a metal layer and an amphoteric metal oxide film disposed over a surface of the metal layer.” The patent is based on work first published in PNAS in 2019.
